Nothing like starting your morning with having a couple complete idiots tell you to f*ck off. And these guys were city employees too. So here’s my story: I was riding my bike to work on Second Street (a designated bike route, BTW) and I notice a pedestrian in the crosswalk at South Park. The car in front of me doesn’t bother to stop, few people do at this particular crosswalk, but I’m one who believes that pedestrians have the right-of-way. There is also that little-known law that states you must stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. I start slowing down and signaling to the vehicles behind me that I’m about to stop. The truck stopped a safe distance behind me but then these guys start yelling that I’m an idiot and that they should have hit me. I point to a sign that states, “State Law - Yield to Pedestrians in Crosswalk,” but they continue their rant about how I have no right to stop in the street. You can just make out a nice middle finger in the truck window of the second photo. You might also notice another pedestrian in that crosswalk in the background. Or possibly the bright yellow sign that marks the crosswalk. Be on the lookout for this Ford F-350 because I wouldn’t trust the driver if I were you. It’s city vehicle number 231 612.
